Wikiwyg is designed to be integrated into any wiki. So integrating it into phpwiki should certainly be doable. The HTML->WIKI transformation happens on the client and the WIKI->HTML happens on the server (in phpwiki itself, for example). All that's needed from phpwiki is the ability to post a piece of wikitext and have it return the resultant html chunk. If this functionality does not exist, I'm sure it's but an hour's hack to make it so. If you would like, I can spend some time "pairing" with you to get this working. At least, we should chat on irc. Find me at #wikiwyg on the irc.freenode.net server. I am "ingy". If you don't do irc, let me know and we can make other arrangements. Cheers, Ingy > > But the client server demo works fine. First, sorry for IRC but I can't access from here. I just have mail, phone or internet (http). For the moment I principally worked on phpwiki files. And now I am going to work on wikiwyg. I have begun to integrate wikiwyg in phpwiki. The interface is fine. And I have effectivily seen a function to convert html to wiki in phpwiki. So I hope it will work soon. I was inspired by kwiki.net. One thing about wikiwyg : Do you think it is possible to insert directly a function or a class in order to choose the wiki language wanted in the initialisation of wikywig ? For my tests I changed directly the formatting rules in wikitext.js. Maybe is there another way to change it ? Although is there ever a function in wikiwyg to send the wikitext to the server for the conversion or do I need to implement it entirely ? Thanks. You should extract in your www directory of apache for example. $ cd www_directory $ tar -xvzaf wikiwyg-XXX.tar.gz You will have the following structure : Wikiwyg |-css : Css stylesheet for wikiwyg |-demo : Some demo of wikiwyg capabilities |---c2 |---clientserver |---configure |---html |---standalone |---wikipedia |-doc : documents on wikiwyg |---html |---pod |---text |-images : Images for the toolbar buttons |-lib : Contains the javascript files |---Wikiwyg |-test Here you can go with your browser in the demo directory of wikiwyg to see some examples. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.2 - Changes on the web site If the extraction is ok you wiil have to integrate wikiwyg in the pages you want. So you will have to insert some javascript code in your webpages. In the head of your webpages you will have to insert the following lines : XXX
XX XX XX XX
The line : will be your script to customize and configure wikiwyg and the line : is the iframe where wikiwyg will be opened. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.3 - The "XXX-wiki.js" script Here is an example of the script : The comments are inside the code. Gecko uses span style="font-weight: bold;" whereas IE uses STRONG. I tested by writing an article using WYSIWYG in Firefox. I saved to the server and tried to edit the same article in IE. IE could not modify anything within the span elements, even though IE can create and save its own articles. Have I missed some kind of markup conversion I was supposed to do before saving to the server?
